Ocean is a two-Michelin star restaurant inspired by the incredible produce local to its Atlantic coastline location. At first glance, filming seemed simple, wowed by the stunning dishes leaving the kitchen, but spending time with chef Hans Neuner and his team, we wanted to create something far more intimate than a simple foodie showcase. We became inspired by the harmony we found among the vibrant chaos of modern gastronomy…the way the chefs worked together, how ingredients balanced with processes and how the restaurant itself existed in symbiosis with its environment. For us, it became about capturing that dynamic, multisensory kineticism – the rhythm of the kitchen, the slow build and interplay that led to glorious crescendo. Creating bespoke poetry that interweaves with visual metaphor, we wanted to tell more than the story behind the food – we wanted to replicate the experience, looking for moments and glances that reveal the true passion that fuels a restaurant of the highest level. An expression of the spirit of adventure at the heart of every chef in that kitchen, we found more than a restaurant, we found a ship, a crew…and are proud to have helped chronicle a journey that continues to this day, as Ocean continues its course into uncharted territory.
